VCS Academy currently supports 14 projects supporting different communities across the globe. We are focussed on supporting local-led mutual aid projects and being the channel for supporting community development, disaster response, and collaborations.
The team behind VCS Academy are all volunteers who have stepped up and came together to ensure appropriate support is given to families and children through mutual aid projects and ground local teams. This means that our volunteer team will focus on project planning and delivery which impacts our ability to source funding and donations via social media and digital channels. Which has been extremely limited to begin with. We need a team of social media content creators to help us with increasing our visibility and online presence.
VCS Academy volunteer team is made up of volunteers, currently we have 8 volunteers, and we are looking to expand the team to cover roles in Communications, Relationships Management, Marketing and Business Development, and Networks Coordination.
Job Description
- Use photos, videos, and information provided by the teams in Gaza and create posts for Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter (other social media platforms can be considered if we can get the support to manage them)
- Optional 1Â – Managing social media pages for the team (Instagram, Youtube, Facebook pages, X)
- Optional 2 – Manage WordPress website pages, posts, and updates.
Requirements
• Ability to design engaging posts using provided photos and information.
• Proficiency in any graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar tools).
• Awareness of the cultural and situational context in Gaza to ensure respectful and appropriate representation.
• Strong written communication skills to craft compelling and clear captions and messages.
• Ability to adapt tone and messaging to align with the organization’s objectives.
Duration – Time Estimate
• 3-4 hours per week.
