Business Support Volunteer

VCS Academy currently supports 14 projects supporting different communities in Gaza Strip. Through fiscal hosting and operational and administrative supp by ort for the project managers and volunteers. Community projects can access not-for-profit status through being fiscally hosted by VCS Academy CIC, while the organisations handles the majority of their financial operations, administrative tasks, and monitoring and reporting support for their different teams

This means that our volunteer team will be really busy supporting the project teams in understanding how to operate within the proper not-for-profit sector operating environment, whilst ensuring that they are supported on managing transparent and clear accounting records that are in compliance with the laws and regulations.

VCS Academy volunteer team is made up of volunteers, currently we have 8 volunteers, and we are looking to expand the team to cover roles in Communications, Relationships Management, Marketing and Business Development, and Networks Coordination.

Job Description

  1. Assigned to a number of projects to support their project team, by creating campaigns, events, and projects on their Open Collective pages.
  2. Willingness to learn and be trained on how to use to Open Collective finance platform.
  3. Willingness to access coaching and mentoring, to gain the confidence to train other project teams and members on how to use the organisation resources and platforms.
  4. Optional 1  – Managing social media pages for the team (Instagram, Youtube, Facebook pages, X)
  5. Optional 2 – Manage WordPress website pages, posts, and updates for the assigned projects.

Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to establish and maintain good relationships with the project teams supported.

• Ability to adapt tone and messaging to align with the organization’s objectives.

• Ability to craft compelling and clear captions and messages.

• Ability to create engaging posts and updates on projects using provided information and photos.

• Awareness of the cultural and situational context in Gaza to ensure respectful and appropriate representation.

Desirable

• Proficiency in any graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar tools).

Duration – Time Estimate

• 7-14 hours per week.
