📘 VCS Academy – Educator Rules & Code of Conduct
1. Commitment to Learners
- Provide accurate, current, and well-prepared content that reflects the Academy’s values of passion, integrity, and impact.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment where all voices are valued.
- Be responsive to learner inquiries within agreed timelines (e.g., 48 hours).
2. Professional Conduct
- Maintain professionalism in tone, dress (for live/recorded sessions), and interactions with learners, staff, and partners.
- Use respectful and inclusive language at all times.
- Avoid discriminatory, offensive, or political content unrelated to the learning objectives.
3. Academic Integrity
- Ensure all materials are either original, properly licensed, or correctly attributed.
- Do not reuse or repurpose copyrighted content without permission.
- Present balanced views and avoid personal bias influencing course delivery.
4. Compliance & Safeguarding
- Comply with local and international education standards, and with VCS Academy’s internal policies on safeguarding, equity, and nondiscrimination.
- Immediately report any safeguarding concerns, misconduct, or suspected abuse to Academy leadership.
- Respect data privacy rules (GDPR, COPPA, etc.) when handling learner information.
5. Engagement & Delivery
- Start and end sessions on time, respecting learners’ schedules.
- Encourage active participation and provide constructive feedback.
- Use diverse teaching tools (slides, visuals, activities, assessments) to engage learners with different learning styles.
- Monitor learner progress and flag issues early.
6. Technology & Platform Use
- Use the official VCS Academy platforms (LearnDash, Zoom, Teams, etc.) for all teaching and communications.
- Ensure all files uploaded are virus-free, correctly labeled, and placed in the proper folders.
- Maintain a reliable internet connection and functioning audio/video equipment for live teaching.
7. Conflicts of Interest
- Disclose any external employment, consultancy, or interests that may conflict with your role at VCS Academy.
- Do not solicit learners for outside work, personal ventures, or donations.
8. Continuous Improvement
- Participate in periodic training, peer review, and evaluation exercises.
- Stay updated with best practices in pedagogy, technology, and subject expertise.
- Contribute feedback and suggestions to improve VCS Academy programs.
9. Disciplinary Measures
- Breaches of these rules may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of educator agreements.
- Serious misconduct (e.g., harassment, fraud, data abuse) will result in immediate termination and possible legal action.
